Hololens Applications to Amaze
Below are a collection of excellent Hololens applications we recommend trying, across a range of sectors and purposes they truly demonstrate the amazing reach and capability of this new technology.
Bridge
An excellent app to allow users to easily share their 3d content with other people in your environment.
AK47
Very nicely made cut away application showing the inner workings of a complex and intricate device, this is an excellent example of how XR can be used to help users understand the inner workings of complex devices.
V8 Engine
This excellent app shows how an engine works, the firing cycles and all the associated movements of pistons, crankshafts and conrods, helpings users instantly understand how an engine actually moves internally.
Air Draw
Not quite Tilt Brush, but an excellent application that allows users to see their brush strokes floating in space in the same way and to practice drawing in 3 dimensions instead of the conventional 2!
Holo Real Estate
A useful app that shows how Hololens may be used in the near future for architectural applications, allowing users to experience property designs from two perspectives, a dolls house view or if you have space actually walk through the building.
Hololenz
Our favourite app, so simple but so effective, you tap on walls in your environment and it creates a realistic window with mountain scenes behind, very realistic and even with a parallax effect so as you move the mountains seem real through the portal.
Holographic Dream Car
Quite a nicely detailed model, showcases how cars can be viewed and walked around in the real world even if you don’t have this car in your showroom stock! Also allows you to resize the model and make it as big or as small as you like.
HoloHeart
Very nicely made application that showcases how Hololens can be used for education and learning with close up’s of biological organs, allowing users to walk around a large scale heart and see it pumping.
The Floor is Lava
This is an excellent app, it cleverly replaces your floor with Lava and encourages you to climb all over your living room furniture to avoid touching the floor to grab objects, this one might need a H&S Risk assessment!
HoloExploded
This app is very effective, it showcases an executive saloon and then once clicked on it, it slowly explodes into all its composite components, allowing users to walk around all the bits of a car. At the click of an air-tap the car reassembles itself back to its assembled unit.
